Job Charter

Our client is seeking a versatile and commercially minded Audit Senior Manager to support the accounting firm’s expansion through a blend of audit leadership, due diligence advisory, client development and practice growth.

The successful candidate will lead assurance engagements, support financial and commercial due diligence assignments, develop client relationships, and contribute to marketing and business development initiatives. Beyond technical delivery, this role is expected to play an active role in growing the practice and strengthening the firm’s market presence.

This role is suited for a hands-on practitioner with strong technical grounding, entrepreneurial instincts and a growth mindset.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Audit & Assurance Engagement Leadership

• Lead and manage a portfolio of audit and assurance engagements across diversified client sectors.

• Oversee planning, execution and completion of statutory audits, ensuring quality, timeliness and regulatory compliance.

• Review engagement deliverables, financial statements and audit files to maintain high professional standards.

• Provide technical guidance to engagement teams and support resolution of complex audit matters.

 

2. Due Diligence & Advisory Support

• Lead or support financial due diligence assignments, business reviews and transaction-related engagements.

• Assist clients with financial analysis, risk identification and pre-transaction assessments.

• Support advisory projects relating to business improvement, controls, restructuring or growth readiness.

• Contribute to development of due diligence and advisory capabilities within the firm.

 

3. Client Development & Practice Growth

• Manage and deepen relationships within an assigned client portfolio.

• Identify opportunities to expand services across audit, accounting and advisory mandates.

• Support new client acquisition through referrals, networking, proposals and business development activities.

• Contribute to revenue growth through portfolio development and commercial initiatives.

 

4. Marketing & Market Development

• Support the firm’s visibility and growth through participation in marketing initiatives, networking events and thought leadership activities.

• Contribute ideas and initiatives to strengthen market positioning and brand presence.

• Participate in seminars, client engagement activities and relationship-building efforts.

• Support development of sector focus or niche growth opportunities.

 

5. Leadership, Team Development & Firm Building

• Lead, mentor and develop Managers, Seniors and Associates across engagements.

• Support recruitment and capability building as the firm expands.

• Foster a collaborative, entrepreneurial and client-centric culture.

• Contribute to operational improvements and scalable growth of the practice.

 

Performance Metrics

Success in this role will be measured by:

• Quality and profitability of managed engagements

• Growth and retention of client portfolio

• Contribution to due diligence and advisory assignments

• New business origination and cross-selling contribution

• Participation in marketing and growth initiatives

• Team development and support of expansion objectives


Requirements

Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.

• Professional qualification such as ACCA, MICPA, or CPA Australia.

• Membership with Malaysian Institute of Accountants preferred.

 

Experience

• 5–8 years of audit or professional practice experience.

• Strong experience in external audit and exposure to due diligence or transaction-related work preferred.

• Prior experience managing client portfolios and supervising engagement teams.

• Exposure to business development, networking or client origination would be advantageous.

• Sound understanding of Malaysian audit and reporting requirements, including Companies Act-related compliance and applicable auditing standards.
