As an IT Project Manager in a banking software solutions environment, you will play a vital role in planning, executing, monitoring, and closing IT projects to ensure delivery within agreed scope, timeline, budget, and quality standard. The role requires strong coordination across business, technical, and other vendor teams (if a project consists of different vendors to provide the total solution), with a focus on governance, risk management, and stakeholder communication. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are vital and important for this role as well. You’ll work closely with different project managers, business analysts, technical consultants, and/or client stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of banking technology solutions. This role bridges product, project, and client support activities to help drive efficient solution implementation and ongoing system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning, Monitoring & Delivery

  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements in alignment with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.

Stakeholder & Communication Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, and Client’s side vendors, or Project Managers; and maintain strong relationships with the respective parties.
  • Provide regular project status updates, progress reports, and risk assessments to management and clients.
  • Facilitate project meetings, steering committee updates, and workshops as required.

Risk, Issue & Change Management

  • Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies early, define mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Manage project changes through formal change control processes, ensuring impact assessment on scope, cost, and timeline.
  • Escalate critical risks and issues to management in a timely and structured manner.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasts/estimates.
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to approved financial limits.
  • Coordinate and optimize project resources, including internal staff and external vendor (if applicable)

Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with company project management methodologies, SOPs, and governance frameworks.
  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained, including project plans, issue logs, meeting minutes, and acceptance sign-offs.
  • Support audits, quality reviews, and post-implementation reviews (PIR).

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (developers, QA, infra, vendors, etc.)
  • Provide guidance and direction to project team members to ensure effective execution.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and a delivery-focused culture within the project team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience managing IT projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, or hybrid) and solid understanding of SDLC, system implementation, and IT delivery lifecycle.
  • Proven experience delivering software development, system integration, or digital transformation projects.
  • Experience in managing project budgets, full project delivery schedules, risks, and change requests.
  • Ability to understand technical designs, system architecture, and integration concepts (without being hands-on)
  • Exposure to enterprise software delivery, ideally in the banking, fintech, financial services, or regulated environment is an advantage.
  • Good organization and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and follow through on deliverables.
  • Excellent written communication skills, highly organized, detail-oriented, and a proactive communicator.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, commitment, and goal oriented.
  • Eagerness to learn, work in a team environment and grow within the banking and financial Services industry.
  • Certification in PMP or equivalent will be an added advantage.
