Role Purpose
This role plays a key part in improving supply chain performance through logistics cost saving initiatives, freight optimization, and supplier collaboration, while supporting stable day to day operations. Experience in planning and inventory control will be a strong advantage, enabling better end to end decision making and cost outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Procurement & Logistics Operations
Support end-to-end procurement and logistics operations to ensure cost effective, timely, and reliable supply
Manage daily logistics execution including freight movements, shipment planning, and exception handling through freight forwarders
Work closely with Planning, Customer Service, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment and inventory flow
Cost Saving & Optimization Projects
Lead and execute logistics cost saving initiatives, including: Freight rate negotiation and lane optimization & Mode shift analysis (sea / air / consolidation opportunities) & Container utilization and shipment consolidation improvements
Support freight forwarder benchmarking, tendering, and performance reviews
Track and report logistics cost KPIs (e.g. cost per shipment, cost per unit, OTIF impact)
Planning & Inventory Collaboration
Support planning and inventory teams by providing logistics and cost insights to improve overall supply chain efficiency
Supplier & Forwarder Management
Maintain strong working relationships with freight forwarders and key suppliers
Monitor service performance against agreed service levels and improvement plans
Identify opportunities to improve service level while reducing total landed cost
Data, Reporting & Governance
Prepare regular cost analysis, savings tracking, and management reports
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis related to logistics spend
Ensure procurement and logistics processes comply with internal controls and company policies
Requirements
Experience
5–8 years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, planning, or inventory control
Proven experience in logistics cost saving projects (freight negotiation, lane optimization, or similar initiatives)
Experience working in a freight forwarder environment is preferred
Strong planning and inventory control capability is a plus
Backgrounds in FMCG, medical, manufacturing, or regulated industries are advantageous
Skills & Competencies
Strong cost analysis and problem-solving skills
Solid understanding of logistics cost drivers and inventory flow
Good stakeholder management and cross functional coordination ability
High attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset
Proficient in Excel experience with other ERP or supply chain systems is an advantage
Education
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline
