Responsibilities

Our leading Hong Kong-based financial institution with central state-owned enterprise background is looking for IT Operations Engineer (Systems Focus) to join the team.

Working Location : ICC, Hong Kong

Job Responsibilities (Primarily systems-focused, with support for daily IT and vendor coordination)
  • Systems Operations & Maintenance: Management, configuration, upgrade, routine maintenance, backup & recovery, monitoring, troubleshooting, log analysis, performance tuning, and security optimization of:
  • Operating systems (Ubuntu, Galaxy Kylin, etc.)
  • Middleware (BaoLand BES application/cache service middleware, Tomcat, Nginx, Nacos, Redis, RabbitMQ, Spring Cloud microservices components)
  • Databases (MySQL, Kingbase, etc.)
  • Application Operations & Maintenance: Deployment, configuration, monitoring, security updates, and troubleshooting for core applications including the Fixed Income Asset Management System (Bond Management System), OA system, Business Network Office Platform, and related applications. Provide user support and coordinate with development vendors.
  • Infrastructure Operations: Daily inspection and basic fault handling for conference hosts, firewalls, switches, routers, printers, computers, access control, video surveillance, etc. Network maintenance. Coordinate effectively with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs/vendors) for issues beyond scope.
  • Office IT Support: Provide IT consultation and desktop/equipment troubleshooting support to approximately 40 office staff.
  • Special Projects & Documentation: Participate in cybersecurity compliance activities (critical period duty, vulnerability scanning, HW exercises, etc.) and support autonomous/controllable system transformation initiatives. Prepare operation & maintenance documentation, user manuals, and emergency response reports.
Requirements

Mandatory Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or above (Computer Science, Networks, Information Technology or related fields preferred).
  • Experience: 3+ years of IT operations experience, with primary focus on systems-side operations.

Technical Skills:

  • OS: Proficient in Linux (Ubuntu) and domestic OS (Galaxy Kylin) daily operations and troubleshooting.
  • Middleware: Familiar with Tomcat, Nginx, Nacos, Redis, RabbitMQ; understanding of Spring Cloud. Experience with BaoLand BES is a strong plus.
  • Database: Proficient in MySQL operations and troubleshooting. Experience with domestic databases such as Kingbase is preferred.
  • Backup & Monitoring: Solid capabilities in backup & recovery, operation monitoring, and log analysis.
  • Infrastructure: Basic troubleshooting skills for networks and common hardware; ability to efficiently engage and coordinate with vendors.

Qualifications & Language

  • Must possess valid Hong Kong work eligibility.
  • Fluent in Mandarin (spoken and written). Cantonese / English are advantages but not mandatory.
  • Relevant certifications (systems, network, security, ITIL, PMP, etc.) are a plus.
