Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

 

To manage Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) projects from site assessment to final commissioning, including DOE documentation, equipment procurement, and technical compliance. The Project Engineer also holds full ownership of iRemote configuration and verification during the project phase, and ensures a clear, documented handover to the Service team before the project is closed.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Pre-Sales & Kick-Off Support

 

- Assist the Sales team in site visits and produce formal site visit reports.

 

- Conduct internal kick-off meeting with the Sales team upon receiving a PO.

 

- Liaise with clients regarding DOE documentation requirements.

 

- After client kick-off, brief CS Executive to follow up with the client for collection of required DOE documents.

 

- Assist Sales in completing the SSF (technical form) for supplier submission.

 

2. Project Execution

 

- Take over project execution once assigned by the Project Manager (PM).

 

- Arrange internal KOM with Sales and Proposal team; lead client KOM.

 

- All KOM materials must be reviewed by PM and Technical Manager before use.

 

- Prepare and review technical documents: GA, Wiring Diagram, P&ID, etc.

 

- Ensure wiring diagrams match client specifications (e.g., redundant PLC, TCP/IP, Modbus RTU).

 

- All documents must be approved by PM and Technical Manager before submission to client.

 

- Procure analysers, panels, and all components per approved design.

 

- Ensure stock allocation for each confirmed project involving dust and/or opacity analysers.

 

- Manage project through FAT, installation, SAT, and commissioning; ensure signed records are properly documented.

 

3. DOE Document Coordination

 

- Review DOE application forms and generate required technical documents.

 

- Hand over completed DOE technical documents to CS Executive (Syazwani) for submission.

 

- Review any technical documents collected from the client by Syazwani before they are submitted to DOE.

 

- Remain available to advise Syazwani on technical queries arising during the DOE submission process.

 

4. iRemote Configuration & Handover — Project Engineer Ownership**

 

- The CEMS Project Engineer owns all iRemote responsibilities during the project phase.

 

- Ensure the correct iRemote software version is pre-installed, tested, and configured before deployment.

 

- Closely follow up on iRemote application progress and troubleshoot delays during project execution.

 

- Verify successful connection of iRemote to DOE and capture evidence of data transfer.

 

- Before project handover, produce and sign off an iRemote Handover Checklist confirming:

 

- iRemote version installed and verified.

 

- DOE data transfer confirmed with evidence captured.

 

- Client site credentials documented and passed to Service team.

 

- Any outstanding iRemote issues noted and communicated.

 

- Once the iRemote Handover Checklist is signed and accepted by the CEMS Service Engineer (Afiq), iRemote responsibility formally transfers to the Service team.

 

5. Project Handover

 

- Hand over the completed project to the Service team with full documentation: signed iRemote Handover Checklist, FAT/SAT records, and as-built drawings.

 

- Ensure no open iRemote or technical issues remain unresolved at handover. Any known outstanding issues must be formally acknowledged by both parties.

 

6. Skills & Competencies

 

- Ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings (GA, P&ID, Wiring, etc.).

 

- Familiar with industrial communication protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet/IP, etc.).

 

- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.

 

- Effective communicator in client-facing environments.

 

- Able to manage multiple tasks and timelines under regulatory and customer expectations.
