Position Summary
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. This role involves leading network projects, troubleshooting complex issues, and mentoring junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Design & Implementation:
- Architect and deploy LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud network solutions.
- Ensure high availability and redundancy for critical systems.
- Maintenance & Optimization:
- Monitor network performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
- Apply patches, upgrades, and configuration changes to maintain security and compliance.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshooting & Support:
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues promptly.
- Provide Tier 3 support for escalated incidents.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and SOPs.
- Prepare performance and capacity reports for management.
- Leadership & Mentorship:
- Guide junior engineers and provide technical training.
- Lead network-related projects and coordinate with vendors.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in network engineering roles, with at least 2 years in a senior capacity.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and QoS.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar enterprise networking equipment.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and SD-WAN technologies.
- Certifications: CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent preferred.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
