Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the end-to-end Halal Assurance Management System (HAS) across all F&B operations and supply chain processes.
  • Act as the Halal Compliance Champion, advising senior management on regulatory updates, risks, and strategic improvements.
  • Chair and lead the Internal Halal Committee (JKHD), ensuring effective governance, accountability, and decision-making.
  • Develop and implement long-term Halal compliance strategies aligned with business objectives and brand positioning.
  • Ensure full compliance with Malaysia Halal Management System (MHMS) and Manual Prosedur Pensijilan Halal Malaysia (MPPHM) 2020.
  • Oversee all Halal certification applications, renewals, and amendments via MYeHaIaI system.
  • Serve as the primary Iia‹son with JAKIM / JAIS, managing audits, inspections, and official communications.
  • Lead preparation and execution of external audits, ensuring successful outcomes and zero major NCRs.
  • Drive timely resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) through cross-functional coordination.
  • Establish robust Halal governance controls across procurement, production, storage, and service processes.
  • Review and approve new ingredients, suppliers, and menu items to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee the Approved Supplier List and Raw Material Master List, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times.
  • Conduct risk assessments and gap analysis, implementing preventive and corrective actions.
  • Ensure strict compliance for high-profile events (VVIP, Royal, Government functions).
  • Design and implement comprehensive Halal training programs for all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with Procurement, Culinary, Hygiene, HR, Engineering, and Operations to ensure seamless Halal compliance.
  • Provide expert guidance to event organizers, tenants, and third-party vendors on Halal requirements.
  • Strengthen relationships with suppliers and external partners to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.
  • Lead and oversee internal Halal audits, ensuring effectiveness and continuous enhancement.
  • Ensure all Halal documentation, records, and certifications are accurate, updated, and audit-ready.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency and compliance standards.
  • Monitor proper usage of Halal logo and claims across all marketing and communication platforms.
  • Represent the hotel in industry engagements, benchmarking, and Halal-related initiatives.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Management in line with business needs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Diploma/Degree holder in Halal Management, Food Technology, Food Science, Shariah Law or equivalent
  • Certified Halal Executive by Halal Professional Board (HPB), JAKIM / JAIS — Compulsory

Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience, with leadership or supervisory exposure preferred
  • Strong background in hospitality/hotel F&B operations

Skills
