Job Description

1. Project Supervision & Implementation

• Lead the supervision of all civil construction activities, including barrage, powerhouse structures, access road, and associated infrastructure.

• Ensure compliance with design drawings, technical specifications, and contractual obligations.

• Oversee quality assurance and control (QA/QC) procedures, ensuring adherence to best engineering practices and industry standards.

• Monitor site progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays.

• Signing documents as the authorised representative of SMEC at the site for the powers delegated by SMEC’s Project Manager.

2. Contract Management & Compliance

• Review and interpret the EPCC contract and technical documents to ensure full compliance by the contractor.

• Verify contractor’s claims, progress reports, and payment applications based on actual site performance.

• Enforce adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements set by local authorities and project approvals.

• Address variations and disputes while ensuring that all contractual obligations are met.

3. Coordination & Communication

• Participate in regular project coordination meetings, technical discussions, and progress reviews.

• Work closely with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration of all disciplines.

• To advise and support on general site management, including management of site documentation and guiding the Assistant Resident Engineer and Clerk-of-Works (COW/IOW) on a day-to-day site activity.

4. Risk & Safety Management

• Ensure strict implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies at the construction site.

• Identify and address potential hazards, risks, and engineering challenges proactively.

• Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions to enhance workplace safety.

5. Testing, Commissioning & Handover

• Supervise final inspections, testing, and commissioning of civil structures to ensure readiness for operation.

• Assist in the preparation and review of as-built drawings, operation manuals, and final project documentation.

• Coordinate with the Employer and Operations Team for smooth transition post-construction.

Job Specification

• Possess Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

• 10 years of working experience  as Resident Engineer in construction site

• Contract : 1 year

• Location: Dabong, Kelantan
