Site Supervisor – Specialist Industrial Flooring

Company: CoGri Malaysia Sdn Bhd
Location: Malaysia
Department: Operations
Reporting To: Works Manager

About the Role

CoGri Malaysia is looking for a hands-on and driven Site Supervisor to join our Operations team. This is a site-based role for someone who enjoys leading people, solving practical construction challenges, and delivering high-quality work in a specialist industrial flooring environment.

This is not a typical site supervisor role. You will be involved in high-performance concrete flooring works for industrial, logistics, warehouse, manufacturing, and specialist facility projects. The role offers exposure to international flooring standards, specialist equipment, floor flatness requirements, QA/QC processes, and technical site execution methods used by the CoGri Group globally.

You will be responsible for coordinating daily site activities, managing workers and subcontractors, maintaining safety and quality standards, supporting floor surveying activities, and ensuring that works are completed efficiently, safely, and to CoGri’s standards.

Why Join CoGri Malaysia?

At CoGri, you will be part of a specialist team delivering high-tolerance industrial flooring solutions, where workmanship, accuracy, planning, and site discipline directly impact project success. This is a strong opportunity for candidates who want to grow beyond general construction supervision and build a career in a niche, technical, and internationally recognised field.

The successful candidate will gain valuable exposure to specialist flooring techniques, floor flatness requirements, QA/QC inspections, site planning, equipment management, and coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Labour Coordination
  • Supervise and coordinate daily site activities to ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.

  • Allocate daily tasks to workers and subcontractors.

  • Monitor workforce productivity and ensure labour resources are used effectively.

  • Brief site teams on daily work activities, quality expectations, and safety requirements.

  • Supervise, guide, and train workers where necessary.

  • Ensure workers’ performance meets the required workmanship and productivity standards.

  • Manage site progress to support project deadlines and budget requirements.

Quality Control & Site Execution
  • Monitor construction procedures to ensure works comply with drawings, schedules, specifications, and CoGri standards.

  • Carry out inspections to maintain high-quality workmanship.

  • Support pre-construction and post-construction floor QA/QC checks.

  • Identify site issues early and propose practical, cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.

  • Update daily site progress and communicate important site matters to the Works Manager or Project/Construction Manager.

  • Ensure all required quality records, reports, and documentation are properly maintained.

Surveying & Technical Support
  • Support surveying activities where required, including checking levels, formwork, sub-base, and floor flatness.

  • Assist with the use of surveying equipment such as optical levels, laser levels, and specialist floor surveying equipment.

  • Ensure surveying data and checks are carried out accurately and reported properly.

Health, Safety & Site Compliance
  • Ensure all site safety precautions, quality standards, and company procedures are followed.

  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings before work starts.

  • Brief site teams and subcontractors on risk assessments, safe work procedures, and work-related safety topics.

  • Ensure safety documentation is submitted before project commencement, including risk assessments, safe work procedures, safety certificates, and induction records.

  • Report near misses, incidents, and accidents promptly using the appropriate reporting procedures.

  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with client and company safety requirements.

  • Check subcontractor work permit validity where applicable.

Plant, Equipment & Materials
  • Ensure tools, machinery, and equipment are available, properly maintained, and in good working condition.

  • Monitor periodic maintenance and proper storage of plant and equipment.

  • Report damaged or faulty tools and equipment promptly for repair.

  • Maintain updated service and repair records.

  • Highlight material and equipment requirements for procurement when required.

Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare and submit daily construction reports.

  • Maintain accurate worker timesheets and site records.

  • Ensure quality records, safety documents, incident reports, equipment records, and progress updates are completed on time.

  • Support the site management team in maintaining proper documentation for internal and client review.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of construction site experience.

  • Diploma or Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Building, or related field is preferred.

  • Experience working with concrete works or industrial flooring is an advantage.

  • Able to read and interpret construction drawings, schedules, and site details.

  • Strong understanding of site coordination, labour management, quality control, and safety practices.

  • Able to communicate effectively with workers, subcontractors, clients, suppliers, and internal project teams.

  • Good problem-solving ability and able to make practical site decisions.

  • Able to work under pressure and manage project deadlines.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and ownership of site works.

  • Willing to be hands-on and support responsibilities outside the normal scope when required to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and interest in specialist concrete flooring works.

Added Advantage
  • Site Safety Supervisor certification.

  • CIDB Certified Construction Site Supervisor certification.

  • Experience in concrete floor casting, floor preparation, floor finishing, or industrial flooring projects.

  • Experience using optical levels, laser levels, or floor surveying equipment.

  • Experience managing subcontractors and site teams of approximately 20 workers or more.

Key Performance Expectations
  • Achieve daily productivity targets set by the Works Manager.

  • Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.

  • Maintain high-quality workmanship and support successful QA/QC outcomes.

  • Submit daily reports, timesheets, safety records, and site documentation on time.

  • Maintain accurate equipment and service records.

  • Ensure site procedures are followed and client safety requirements are met.
