POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, handling, and dispatching goods. The role ensures accurate inventory management, timely order fulfilment, and adherence to safety and operational standards.
The incumbent will work closely with the production team to ensure smooth stock movement and availability of materials, while maintaining proper documentation and reporting.
Receiving & Processing Stock
- Receive and unload incoming shipments
- Verify goods against purchase orders and delivery documents
- Inspect items for damage or discrepancies and report issues
- Record stock details accurately in the system
Inventory Management
- Store and organise inventory in designated warehouse locations
- Maintain accurate stock records and documentation
- Conduct regular stock counts and inventory audits
- Process and document returns
- Monitor inventory levels and highlight low-stock items
Order Fulfilment
- Pick and pack items accurately based on requirements
- Check finished goods and reconcile against delivery orders (DO)
- Prepare goods for dispatch
- Load goods onto trucks or containers safely
- Coordinate with production team to ensure timely fulfilment
Equipment Operation
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely
- Conduct basic checks and ensure equipment is in good working condition
- Report any faults or maintenance needs
Safety and Housekeeping
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of warehouse areas
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols
- Comply with fire safety and hazard guidelines
- Report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly
Reporting
- Prepare daily activity reports including:
- Goods received and dispatched
- Stock movements (inbound/outbound)
- Issues encountered (e.g. damaged goods, delays, shortages)
- Maintain inventory reports:
- Stock count vs system records
- Low-stock alerts
- Expiry or obsolescence tracking (if applicable)
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Educational Requirements
- Minimum SPM or equivalent
- Candidates with certificate or diploma in logistics, supply chain, or a related field would be an advantage
- Relevant warehouse/logistics certifications are an advantage
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant warehouse or logistics experience preferred
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of inventory handling and warehouse processes
- Familiarity with warehouse systems or basic data entry
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift license preferred)
