About the role

We are seeking a QA Supervisor to join Newbillion Precision Metal Sdn Bhd in Batu Kawan, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our quality assurance standards across manufacturing operations. As QA Supervisor, you will oversee quality control processes, lead a team of quality assurance personnel, and ensure that all products meet our rigorous standards and customer requirements. This role is strategically important to our organisation, as it directly impacts product excellence, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

1. Supervise and manage the quality assurance team, including recruitment, training, performance management and development of team members

2. Develop, implement and maintain quality control procedures, inspection protocols and testing standards across manufacturing processes

3. Conduct regular inspections and testing of products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with specifications and standards

4. Analyse quality data, identify trends and root causes of defects, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

5. Prepare quality reports, documentation and records for management review and customer requirements

6. Collaborate with production, engineering and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes

7. Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, regulations and certifications (such as ISO standards)

8. Conduct internal audits and manage external audit preparations to maintain quality certifications

9. Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances, documenting findings and implementing solutions

10. Maintain and calibrate quality control equipment and ensure proper maintenance schedules

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 2 years' experience in quality assurance and quality control within manufacturing environments, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership capacity

2. Strong knowledge of quality management systems, ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards

3. Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma methodologies and root cause analysis techniques

4. Excellent understanding of precision metal manufacturing processes, tolerances and inspection methods

5. Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting

6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

7. Competent in quality management software and data analysis tools

8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to produce clear quality documentation

9. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and customer quality expectations in manufacturing

10. A qualification in Quality Management, Engineering or equivalent relevant field is desirable

11. Certification in quality disciplines (such as ASQ Certified Quality Manager) is advantageous
