Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to join our growing team working on diamond quantum imaging with NV centers. This role is central to developing cutting-edge platforms, integrating imaging hardware and software with simulations of NV physics. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment alongside postdocs, PhD students, and undergraduates, contributing to the build-up phase of an ambitious research lab.
Key Responsibilities
  • Widefield & scanning probe development: Design and implement experimental platforms for diamond quantum imaging using NV centers.
  • Software & hardware integration: Develop and synchronize pulse sequence control systems across hardware and software layers.
  • NV physics simulations: Model spin and optical properties of NV centers to guide experiments and interpret results.
  • Team collaboration: Work closely with postdocs, PhD students, and undergraduates in a multidisciplinary research environment.
  • Cross-disciplinary exploration: Engage with related fields such as quantum materials, magnetism, fusion, and integrated circuits to identify novel sensing solutions.

Qualifications

  • Min a bachelor’s degree with strong background in quantum physics, optics, or condensed matter physics.

  • Proficiency in programming for experimental control (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB).
  • Familiarity with spin dynamics simulations and optical modeling is advantageous, but not strictly required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a diverse team.
  • Dynamic, adaptable, and eager to learn in a rapidly evolving research environment.
  • Open to Fixed Term Contract.
