Automation + Manual Test Engineer (Data Science / AI)

About the Role

We are looking for a QA Engineer (Automation + Manual Testing) with strong experience in data-driven applications, AI/ML systems, and backend validation. The ideal candidate will ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of data pipelines, analytical outputs, and AI model results.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Modelers to understand data sources, transformation logic, and business requirements
• Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with data architecture (bronze to gold layers)
• Perform data profiling, data validation, and quality analysis to identify issues and anomalies
• Validate source-to-target data mappings and transformation rules
• Develop and maintain test cases for manual and automated testing
• Perform API testing and backend validation (data integrity, responses, and workflows)
• Work with stakeholders to define KPIs, business rules, and data definitions
• Support testing of transformed datasets to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and classification standards
• Maintain clear documentation including metadata, data dictionaries, and mapping documents

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in manual and automation testing for complex applications
• Proficiency in test planning, test case design, and execution
• Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, PyTest
• Strong Python skills for test automation and data validation
• Solid experience in API testing (Postman, REST Assured)
• Strong SQL skills for database validation and data integrity checks
• Understanding of data science / AI concepts (ML models, pipelines, evaluation basics)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps preferred)
• Strong analytical and debugging skills
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Good to Have

• Knowledge of AI/ML testing techniques (model validation, bias, performance testing)
• Experience with Databricks, Data Lake, or big data platforms
• Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
• Familiarity with MLOps and model monitoring
• Energy domain knowledge

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM6,400.00 per month
