As the Global Procurement Director, you will take absolute ownership of the global category management function and team. You will drive long-term supply base development, lead executive-level supplier negotiations, and build a high-performing sourcing team. Operating at a strategic, cross-functional level, you will align supplier capability, scalability, and flexibility with demanding business and customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and execute the global category strategy and long-term supplier base development
- Build, mentor, and elevate a high-performing, agile global sourcing and category management team
- Lead supplier identification, strict qualification frameworks, and rigorous performance management globally
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives targeting supplier cost reduction, lead time compression, and inventory optimization
- Architect and implement strategic supplier stocking and supply programs to mitigate cross-border supply chain risks
- Partner seamlessly with internal stakeholders across Supply Chain, Materials, SQE, NPI, Engineering, and Operations
- Establish, track, and report on global category KPIs spanning supplier performance, supply continuity, quality, and delivery
Requirements:
- In-depth, proven experience in category management is strictly required.
- Deep background operating within high-mix, low-volume (HMLV) or engineer-to-order (ETO) manufacturing structures.
- Solid footprint in complex sectors like electro-mechanical assembly, medical devices, aerospace, defense, or industrial equipment.
- Exceptional track record in high-stakes supplier negotiation, structural cost-out initiatives, and supplier qualification.
- Strong people leadership capabilities with a history of leading regional or global teams and managing senior stakeholders across diverse cultures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. APICS / CPIM certification is a highly valued advantage.
