The Opportunity
We are seeking a structured and motivated Archery Center Intern for a 3-month contractual placement. This position offers comprehensive exposure to sports management, pro-shop engineering, and athletic coaching. Upon successful completion of the internship, candidates who demonstrate exceptional performance and cultural alignment will be considered for a permanent, Full-Time position (commencing with a standard 3-month probationary period).
Note on Experience: No prior archery background, knowledge, or athletic history is required for this position. We provide full, comprehensive training on all technical and coaching aspects of the sport from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Support: Assist with coaching in the range's daily operational classes, corporate team-building events, and community events.
- Facility Operations: Ensure range safety protocols are strictly enforced, assist with equipment maintenance and inventory, and maintain a clean, organized environment.
- Event Coordination: Provide logistical support for tournaments, competitions, and community initiatives.
- Backend Support (Technical & Pro-Shop): Learn the engineering components of archery equipment, developing proficiency in creating customized competitive strings, custom arrow builds, and technical bow tuning.
- Media & Brand Development: Learn to conceptualize and produce high-quality, motivational, and informative video content for the company's social media platforms to drive community engagement.
Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possess a completed Diploma in any field.
- Language Skills: Proficient verbal communication in English, Bahasa Malaysia, or Mandarin to effectively coach and engage with diverse groups of clients.
- Communication & Personality: Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills; must possess an outgoing, high-energy, and proactive personality suitable for a client-facing, coaching-centric role.
- Physical Fitness: Good physical fitness and stamina; comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting range equipment during event setup.
- Reliability: High level of punctuality, discipline, and commitment to scheduled shifts.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including mandatory weekend shifts for events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Transportation: Possesses a valid driver's license and own transport (highly preferred for weekend event punctuality).
- Certifications: Active CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
- Customer Experience: Prior experience in retail, front-desk hospitality, event management, or customer service roles.
- Group Management: Experience working with children or hosting group activities (e.g., camp counselor, school club leader, or sports captain).
- Digital Skills: Basic familiarity with video editing software or mobile content creation tools (e.g., CapCut, Canva) for social media engagement.
Compensation & Career Progression
- Internship Period (First 3 Months): 500 monthly stipend.
- Probationary Period (Next 3 Months): Salary to be discussed upon successful completion of the internship.
