Responsibilities
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Lead to oversee and optimize enterprise infrastructure operations within a government-focused environment. The successful candidate will lead infrastructure teams, ensure system reliability, drive operational excellence, and support critical platforms across servers, networks, storage, cloud, and middleware technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Day 2 Infrastructure Operations team to ensure stable, secure, and reliable IT services.
Manage servers, networks, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, capacity planning, patching, and maintenance activities.
Develop and maintain infrastructure architecture documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with System Engineers, Software Engineers, and project teams on deployment and integration activities.
Manage incident resolution, root cause analysis, and vendor escalations.
Ensure compliance with government security policies, operational standards, and InfoSec requirements.
Coordinate backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery activities.
Produce infrastructure status reports, incident summaries, and improvement recommendations.
Mentor and guide infrastructure engineers to strengthen technical capabilities and operational effectiveness.
Required Skills
7+ years of IT Infrastructure experience, preferably within government or regulated environments.
Strong expertise in:
Servers & Operating Systems
Network Infrastructure
Storage Technologies
Virtualization Platforms
AWS and/or Azure Cloud
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Nagios.
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and operational support models.
Proven experience leading infrastructure teams and supporting mission-critical systems.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
Middleware administration (WebSphere, Tomcat, or similar).
CI/CD and application deployment pipelines.
Security operations and government compliance standards.
Vendor and service provider management.
Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR).
