Position: Security Engineer

Salary: RM 4,000 – RM 7,500

Location: Petaling Jaya

Working days: 10am – 7pm / Mon - Fri

About the Role

We are seeking a Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security controls across our digital platform. This role is responsible for protecting systems, applications, and data against cyber threats while ensuring compliance, reliability, and secure operations in a high-availability environment.

Job Description

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business Design, implement, and maintain security architecture across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments
• Monitor systems for security threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activities Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing coordination, and remediation tracking
• Work closely with development and DevOps teams to implement secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles
• Manage identity and access controls (IAM), authentication, and authorization systems
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, including root cause analysis and reporting
• Implement security monitoring tools, alerts, and SIEM solutions
• Ensure systems comply with internal policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements
• Support risk assessments and security audits
• Continuously improve security posture through automation and proactive defense strategies

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
• 2–5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, or infrastructure security roles
• Strong understanding of network security, application security, and cloud security concepts
• Experience with security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
• Knowledge of secure development practices and DevSecOps pipelines
• Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Bash) is an advantage
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and incident response skills Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or similar are a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
