Job Description
Ideal candidates need to be familiar with the following:
* Strong background in Linux
• Previous experience working in a Data Centre environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment).
* Solid foundation of experience supporting servers, storage and networking technology
* Responsible for a shift in a 24/7/365 working environment including on-call rostered basis shift
• Solid knowledge of Data Centre Ecosystem (cooling, electrical, networking, and structured cabling)
* Performance Management/Troubleshooting
* Base Operating System Installation Responsibilities / Requirements of the role:
• Ability to understand internal customer problems and provide technical solutions in a timely manner.
• Strong Adherence to Process and be a process champion.
• Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware, and software.
* Provides escalated 2nd level technical support for complex technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status.
• Manages escalated support cases and leads appropriate internal technical resources and/or 3rd party vendors to resolution.
• Assist with server operating system and application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching
* Perform replacements of failed components such as hard drives/ DIMMs etc. • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues
• Replace AOC, QSFP, MPO, and Cat6 cables. Confidential – Oracle Internal
