JOB PURPOSE
The Inside Sales Executive acts as the primary point of internal sales contact for assigned customer accounts, supporting sales growth through proactive account management, timely quotation processing, and effective customer engagement. Working closely with Outside Sales and cross-functional teams, the role ensures seamless order management, resolves operational and commercial issues, maintains compliance with company procedures, and delivers a high level of customer service to strengthen relationships and achieve business objectives.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Meet or exceed established KPIs.
- Drive sales through prompt, accurate, and timely RFQ responses and quotation follow-up (BG quotes).
- Proactively manage Backlog and BIM activities in partnership with Customer Service (CS) and Outside Sales Representatives (OSR).
- Serve as the operational interface between Outside Sales and all supporting departments to ensure seamless handling of customer inquiries.
- Support the achievement of branch/regional sales goals, objectives, and initiatives.
JOB CONTENT (PRIMARY & SECONDARY FUNCTIONS)
- Collaborate with Outside Sales to develop account plans and strategies that achieve sales targets, KPIs, and overall company objectives. Participate in Account Reviews as applicable.
- Proactively engage assigned accounts to identify new business opportunities and strengthen relationships at all levels within the customer organization.
- Ensure full understanding of and compliance with all sales SOPs as listed on the Intranet.
- Manage daily customer RFQs by preparing BG quotes accurately and promptly using the Sales Associates quoting tool. Respond to customers and follow up on TURNS and BUY quotes to ensure timely conversion to orders.
- Qualify and process BG BID and BUY quotes, ensuring timely responses to customers.
- Coordinate with the Order Entry team regarding customer-specific order requirements and PO acknowledgements. Enter data for shortage buys when urgency requires.
- Manage commercial interfaces with customers and internal departments regarding Trade Compliance requirements (ECS, CIV, renewals), product documentation (NCNR, waivers), and Programming First Article Approvals.
- Act as the primary customer contact for resolving order-related issues that fall outside the Backlog Management policy (for non-strategy accounts). Address order rejects and PINs, escalating unresolved issues to Outside Sales as needed.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all operational issues—including RMAs, QA matters, credit discrepancies (for all assigned accounts), and expedite/delivery concerns (for non-strategy accounts). Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely resolution.
- Manage BIM line add/delete requests after BIM setup, based on OSR input and customer review.
- Provide support for backup customer accounts during team member absences.
- Perform additional responsibilities based on customer-specific service requirements, as defined and agreed upon with Outside Sales and Sales Management.
RECOMMENDED CREDENTIALS
Qualifications
- Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a relevant field of study.
Experience
- Prior experience of inside sales, preferably in electronic components or a technical distribution environment is highly advantageous.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Attitudes)
- Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-up skills, and effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
- Proficiency in Sales Associates tools used for managing customer RFQ processes.
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, VLOOKUP, and basic formulas) sufficient to analyze customer BOMs, prioritize quote activities, and maximize quote-to-close ratios.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor, passive, interconnect, and electromechanical products, including part recognition and basic cross-referencing.
