Role Description This on-site Front Desk Receptionist internship role is based in Petaling Jaya. The Front Desk Receptionist intern serves as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, greeting guests, answering inquiries, and directing individuals to the appropriate person or department. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling incoming calls with professional phone etiquette, managing reception area activities, and performing basic clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and scheduling. The intern will support customer service efforts by responding to resident, family, and visitor questions in a courteous and timely manner. The role also involves coordinating mail and deliveries, maintaining a tidy front desk area, and collaborating with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.


Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in receptionist duties, including greeting visitors, managing inquiries, and directing calls and walk-ins appropriately.
  • Solid phone etiquette and the ability to handle multiple incoming calls calmly and courteously.
  • Basic clerical skills such as data entry, filing, scheduling, and handling mail or deliveries.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, reliable attendance, and a well-organized reception area.
  • Comfort using office software and equipment (e.g., email, word processing, phone systems, printers/copiers).
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and work collaboratively in a senior living and community-focused environment.
  • Prior front desk, hospitality, or customer-facing experience is an advantage but not required; students or early-career candidates are encouraged to apply.
