Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of facilities systems within an automotive manufacturing environment. Ensures all critical utilities and equipment—including Electrical, HVAC, CDA/VAC, DI/WWTP, and Fire Protection systems—operate reliably to support production, safety, and efficiency goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all facility installations comply with local regulatory and legal requirements.
- Work closely with the Safety & Health team to ensure compliance with OSH, environmental standards, and industry codes of practice.
- Fulfill regulatory requirements under DOSH, DOE, Bomba, ST Acts, and other related regulations, including management of steam boilers, pressure vessels, and electrical systems.
2. Facilities Maintenance & Operations
- Plan, manage, and execute preventive maintenance (PM) activities for plant facilities systems, including:
- Electrical Power Systems (transformers, switchgears, DBs, standby gensets). Compressors, Boilers, Air-conditioning systems, Chillers, Fire Protection Systems.
- Conduct daily inspections of facilities and escalate any irregularities or non-conformities.
- Ensure reliability and performance of equipment through analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and forecast critical spare parts and consumables.
3. Emergency & Operational Support
- Assess and shut down power supply at substations during emergencies where necessary (for authorized chargeman).
- Liaise with Production and other departments for activities affecting shared facilities (e.g., power shutdowns, fire system testing).
4. Contractor & Project Management
- Supervise contractors on-site to ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies.
- Manage facility-related projects, ensuring timely completion with minimal supervision.
- Support or assume Senior Engineer responsibilities when required.
5. Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor facility system performance and provide regular updates to management.
- Track and improve energy efficiency; propose and implement energy-saving and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Prepare reports and budgets related to utilities, maintenance, and upgrades.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to maintaining and improving SOPs.
- Participate in Kaizen and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Enhance facility system functionality and reliability through data-driven improvements.
7. Additional Duties
- Undertake other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by superiors from time to time.
Requirements:
1. Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Diploma with strong experiences can be considered.
2. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experiences in related field.
3. Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls.
- Familiarity with mechanical utilities such as HVAC, CDA, WWTP, and fire protection systems in an automotive production environment.
4. Skills:
- Good understanding of energy management, safety protocols, and preventive maintenance planning.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other engineering tools.
5. Personal Attributes:
- Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
