Position Purpose
The Lead Electrical Engineer holds technical authority over all electrical PM activities at the KTP-A Data Center. This role is responsible for planning, overseeing, and executing approved preventive maintenance works across all electrical systems within the defined PM scope.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical PM Execution
- Execute and oversee all approved preventive maintenance tasks for electrical systems including HV/LV distribution, UPS systems, standby generators, transformers, ACBs, switchgear, and protection systems
- Conduct and supervise HV/LV switching operations in accordance with approved switching procedures and safety protocols
- Perform or witness performance testing, insulation resistance testing, thermographic inspections, and load bank testing as scheduled
- Ensure all PM activities comply with OEM manuals, method statements, and statutory requirements
Technical Oversight
- Review and validate PM checklists, method statements, and risk assessments for electrical works
- Identify and report deficiencies, deviations, or emerging risks observed during PM execution to the Engineering Manager
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all electrical systems at KTP-A, including equipment ratings, configuration, and protection settings
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare accurate PM records, test reports, and compliance documentation for all electrical works executed
- Submit findings and completion status to the Engineering Manager following each PM activity
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safe work practices, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), and permit-to-work compliance during all electrical PM activities
- Support statutory compliance including Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements, Chargeman obligations, and applicable Malaysian electrical regulations
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in electrical maintenance within data center or mission-critical environments
- Chargeman A4 or higher certification (mandatory)
- Experience with HV systems (11kV/33kV), UPS, generators, and power distribution
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, Electricity Supply Act, and applicable Malaysian electrical standards
Pay: From RM5,000.00 per month
