Position Purpose

The Lead Mechanical Engineer holds technical authority over all mechanical PM activities at the KTP-A Data Center. This role oversees the planned preventive maintenance of all cooling, HVAC, and associated mechanical systems within the approved PM scope.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical PM Execution

• Execute and oversee approved PM activities for all mechanical systems including CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, UNIFLAIR units, cooling distribution units (CDU), ventilation systems, pumps, and associated mechanical equipment
• Perform thermal management assessments, filter replacements, refrigerant checks, belt and bearing inspections, and other scheduled PM tasks in accordance with OEM guidelines
• Manage PM schedules for HVAC and cooling systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal unplanned downtime

Technical Oversight

• Review and validate PM checklists and method statements for all mechanical works
• Report observed deficiencies, anomalies, or emerging risks to the Engineering Manager with supporting documentation
• Maintain technical records of all cooling and mechanical systems, including equipment specifications, service history, and performance trends

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare accurate maintenance records, checklists, and performance reports for all mechanical PM activities
• Ensure data center thermal management metrics are captured and reported as part of PM documentation

Safety & Compliance

• Comply with all QESH requirements and Day One’s site safety rules during PM execution
• Ensure all refrigerant handling is conducted in accordance with applicable environmental regulations

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance within data center or mission-critical environments
• Hands-on experience with CRAC/CRAH systems, chillers, and precision cooling equipment
• Familiarity with ASHRAE thermal management guidelines for data centers
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and applicable Malaysian mechanical safety standards

Pay: From RM5,500.00 per month
