Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Maintenance Technician role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance on hotel facilities, systems, and equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and team members. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting and servicing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems; responding to maintenance requests; and carrying out repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The role also involves assisting with preventive maintenance schedules, documenting work performed, monitoring the condition of tools and supplies, and supporting contractors or vendors when needed. The Maintenance Technician works closely with the Engineering and Operations teams to minimize downtime, comply with safety and regulatory standards, and support smooth hotel operations.
Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for building systems, guest rooms, and common areas.
  • Hands-on experience with Preventive Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance in a hotel, residential, or commercial setting.
  • Proven Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and safe work practices, including lockout/tagout and proper use of PPE.
  • Relevant technical or vocational certification in maintenance, engineering, electrical, mechanical, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow technical manuals, work orders, and maintenance schedules, with good documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Physically able to perform manual work, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces, with attention to safety.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by hotel operations.
