Responsibilities

About the job  

We are seeking a motivated and diligent Pupil to join our Disputes practice. The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Partner and associates on a broad range of contentious matters, with hands-on exposure to all stages of dispute resolution and litigation work throughout the pupillage period.   


Requirements and Qualifications  

  • Strong interest in disputes and litigation 
  • Excellent research, drafting, and communication skills in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage 
  • Demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and attention to detail 
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively, and manage multiple tasks or deadlines 
  • A minimum of a 2:1 (Upper Second-Class Honours) degree or equivalent is preferred, though all applicants will be considered 


Roles and Responsibilities   

  • Conduct legal research and assist in the preparation of strategic analysis for dispute matters 
  • Assist in drafting pleadings, affidavits, written submissions, correspondence, and other court-related documents 
  • Attend court proceedings, case managements, hearings, and trials 
  • Assist in preparation for hearings and trials, including legal research, review of evidence and authorities, and supporting the development of dispute resolution strategy 
  • Liaise with clients, court, and relevant stakeholders under supervision 
  • Provide support to the Disputes team on administrative and file management tasks 
  • Participate in work across other practice areas where required, including corporate and commercial matters, intellectual property, and construction work.
