Job Description
Responsibilities
An IT Infrastructure Support Engineer manages, maintains, and troubleshoots an organization's underlying technology ecosystem. They are the primary line of defense ensuring servers, networks, cloud environments, and end-user systems remain secure, optimized, and available to prevent business downtime.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for technical incidents, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Proactively monitor server, storage, and network performance to identify potential bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, or risks before they impact users.
Execute routine maintenance, firmware updates, OS patching, and system backups according to established ITIL processes.
Liaise with external vendors and higher-tier engineering teams to resolve complex problems, oversee service requests, and minimize downtime.
Maintain operational records, track inventory, update system architecture documentation, and ensure adherence to cybersecurity and data compliance policies.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in IT with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows/Linux operating systems, Active Directory, virtualization (e.g., VMware), and foundational networking (switches, routers, firewalls)
Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and operating within strict Service Level Agreements.
Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, high-pressure crisis management, and effective customer service
