POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an exceptional Lead Designer to head our in-house design team and take full ownership of all visual and packaging design. You will deliver outstanding packaging design and brand visuals for both our proprietary brands and our customers’ brands.

This senior, hands-on role combines creative leadership with rigorous quality control and cutting-edge AI capabilities. You will oversee the entire design process from concept through to production-ready artwork, ensuring every deliverable is compliant, accurate, and flawlessly executed. In our fast-paced manufacturing environment where packaging is our core design output, you'll balance creative vision with meticulous attention to detail and tight deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design Leadership & Execution

• Lead creative direction and execution of all packaging design across multiple product categories and brand portfolios
• Design high-quality visual assets including packaging, labels, POS materials, catalogues, and digital content
• Leverage AI design tools to generate high-resolution commercial images, accelerate workflows, create mock-ups, and explore creative concepts efficiently

Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage our in-house design team, setting clear expectations and fostering excellence
• Train team members in effective use of AI design tools and emerging technologies
• Distribute workload effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation and timely delivery
• Build efficient design workflows integrating AI tools, templates, and systems that enhance productivity

Quality Control & Compliance

• Own ultimate responsibility for completeness, accuracy, and correctness of all design deliverables before production
• Establish and enforce rigorous quality control processes to eliminate errors and ensure consistency
• Ensure all packaging complies with legal requirements, industry regulations, customer specifications, and brand guidelines
• Conduct final sign-off reviews for all artwork, serving as the quality gatekeeper

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with product development, marketing, sales, and operations teams to deliver solutions
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with varying timelines and stakeholder requirements
• Communicate proactively with internal teams and external suppliers including printers and packaging manufacturers

REQUIREMENTS

Essential Experience & Skills

• 5-7 years' experience as a graphic designer with substantial focus on packaging design (FMCG/consumer goods/retail preferred)
• Demonstrated expertise in generating high-resolution commercial images using AI tools
• Minimum 2 years managing or mentoring designers in a lead or senior role
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Deep understanding of print production processes, pre-press requirements, and packaging manufacturing
