Job Summary

Operate and monitor tidal gates between the reservoir and sea, ensuring accurate data recording, site surveillance, and contractor supervision to support PUB’s water management operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate tidal gates between the reservoir and sea to regulate water flow as directed by PUB
• Check and record reservoir and sea level meter readings every hour to maintain accurate operational data
• Monitor CCTV footage at reservoir premises to detect and report unusual activities or unauthorized access
• Review weather forecasts regularly to prepare for tidal gate operations during changing conditions
• Supervise contractors on-site by overseeing their tasks and ensuring compliance with operational standards
• Use computer applications, including Microsoft Office, to document and report operational activities accurately
• Work shifts as scheduled to provide continuous monitoring and operation of tidal gates
• Use reliable personal transportation to commute to the worksite consistently and punctually

Required competencies and certifications

• NITEC certificate (minimum qualification)
• Competency in computer use, including Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work shift schedules
• Access to reliable personal transportation
