Job Description
Cost Planning & Budget Control
- Develop and maintain project budgets, cost breakdown structures (CBS), and cost control systems.
- Establish project cost baselines and monitor performance against approved budgets.
- Review project estimates, quotations, and commercial proposals during project initiation.
Cost Monitoring & Reporting
- Track actual project expenditures, commitments, and accruals.
- Monitor labor, subcontractor, material, equipment, and vessel-related costs.
- Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports, dashboards, and management summaries.
- Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions to mitigate budget overruns.
Forecasting & Financial Analysis
- Prepare Estimate at Completion (EAC), Estimate to Complete (ETC), and cash flow forecasts.
- Conduct trend analysis to identify cost risks and opportunities.
- Support project managers in evaluating the financial impact of scope changes and variation orders.
Change Management
- Monitor approved and pending variation orders, change requests, and additional work claims.
- Ensure all project changes are properly documented and reflected in project forecasts.
- Assist commercial and project teams in preparing supporting cost data for client negotiations.
Procurement & Contract Administration
- Coordinate with procurement teams to track purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and vendor invoices.
- Verify cost allocations and ensure expenditures are charged to the correct project accounts.
- Monitor subcontractor progress and payment certifications.
Project Controls & Compliance
- Maintain accurate project cost records and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company financial procedures, project controls standards, and audit requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to project expenditures.
Requirement
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Accounting, Finance, Project Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cost control,project controls, quantity surveying, or project finance within the shipyard,marine, offshore, or heavy engineering industry.
- Strong knowledge of project cost control methodologies and budgeting principles.
