Responsibilities

Job Summary

Huckleberry Hospitality Group is looking for a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to support our kitchen operations. The successful candidate will assist in preparing high-quality brunch, café, bakery, and retail menu items while maintaining Huckleberry's standards for food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.

Outlet: Bukit Damansara, Merdeka 118, BSC Mall, The Gardens Mid Valley, Intermark Mall, KLGCC Mall

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation & Production
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to Huckleberry recipes and standards.
  • Prepare ingredients, sauces, garnishes, and mise en place for daily operations.
  • Support the production of breakfast, brunch, lunch, retail, and catering items.
  • Ensure food presentation meets Huckleberry quality standards.
  • Assist with packing and preparation of takeaway, delivery, and catering orders.

Kitchen Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation at all times.
  • Follow all food safety, HACCP, and hygiene procedures.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, labeling, and rotating stock using FIFO practices.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients and finished products.
  • Support opening and closing kitchen duties.

Teamwork & Development

  • Work closely with Chefs de Partie, Sous Chefs, and Head Chefs to ensure smooth service operations.
  • Follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently during busy service periods.
  • Participate in training and continuously improve culinary skills.
  • Contribute positively to the team culture and maintain professional conduct.

Requirements

  • Minimum SPM or equivalent.
  • Culinary certification is an advantage.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous kitchen experience in a café, restaurant, hotel, or bakery is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic.
  • Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
