JOB SUMMARY/ JOB OVERVIEW :
The Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling operational costs to ensure financial efficiency and profitability across the business. This role oversees inventory costing, stock management, cost analysis, budgeting support, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls. The Cost Controller works closely with operations, procurement, warehouse, and finance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve inventory accuracy, and maintain optimal cost management practices.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and control food, beverage, retail, and operational costs across all business units.
- Conduct regular cost analysis and variance reporting to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Review and verify inventory movements, stock transfers, stock adjustments, and stock take results.
- Perform periodic inventory audits and physical stock counts to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze product costing, menu costing, and pricing structures to support profitability objectives.
- Monitor purchasing activities and ensure compliance with approved budgets and procurement procedures.
- Investigate cost variances, inventory losses, wastage, and operational inefficiencies.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost control reports for management review.
- Support budgeting and forecasting exercises by providing cost-related data and analysis.
- Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to identify cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, supplier pricing, and cost-related documentation.
- Ensure adherence to internal control procedures and company financial policies.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including inventory reconciliation and cost allocation.
- Support external and internal audits by preparing relevant documentation and reports.
- Perform other ad hoc duties and projects assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in cost control, inventory management, accounting, or finance.
- Experience in the F&B, hospitality, retail, or multi-outlet environment is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles, costing methodologies, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/POS systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and accountability in handling financial information.
