Planning Engineer Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and maintain the overall project schedule for the construction of the airport kitchen facility using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Plan and monitor work sequencing, manpower loading, resource allocation, and material procurement to ensure timely project delivery.
- Coordinate with civil, MEP, architectural, and kitchen-equipment teams to integrate their activities into the master schedule.
- Track project progress, identify potential delays, and propose mitigation or recovery plans.
- Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports, dashboards, and KPI tracking for management and stakeholders.
- Monitor long-lead items (kitchen equipment, MEP systems, specialized fittings) and ensure delivery aligns with construction timelines.
- Conduct schedule impact analysis for variations, design changes, or unforeseen site issues.
- Review subcontractor schedules to ensure alignment with the main baseline schedule.
- Coordinate with procurement, site teams, and consultants to ensure timely approvals and work execution.
- Assist in planning installation, testing & commissioning activities for kitchen equipment, exhaust & ventilation systems, and MEP utilities.
- Ensure compliance with airport safety regulations, restricted-zone access procedures, and operational constraints.
- Participate in coordination meetings and present schedule updates and critical path analyses.
- Support project close-out planning, including as-built schedule preparation and handover documentation.
Planning Engineer Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 4–5 years planning experience in construction projects; experience in airport projects or kitchen facility construction is an added advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 (preferred) or MS Project.
- Understanding of CSA, MEP, interior fit-out, and kitchen-equipment installation sequencing.
- Good proficiency in English (spoken and written) for communication with project teams and contractors.
- Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a high-security airport environment and comply with airport authority requirements.
- Familiar with baseline development, progress measurement, S-curve, critical path analysis, and delay impact studies.
