What The Role Is

You lead a team of Artificial Intelligence (AI) developers to build prioritised AI products at the SAF AI Centre (SAIC).

The SAF Artificial Intelligence Centre (SAIC) is a unit within the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS) that addresses SAF's operational data science challenges and enhances defence capabilities through innovative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.

What You Will Be Working On

• Lead and manage AI developers in product teams
• Provide on-site support to respective entities when required
• Maintain relationships with internal and external partners for AI collaboration
• Stay up-to-date with latest developments in AI and Machine Learning (ML) technology
• Identify, initiate, and promulgate worthwhile engineering projects across the SAF
• Ensure beneficial deployment of AI/ML tools within the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF)
  
  

Challenge(s)

• Maintaining in-depth understanding of AI/ML and languages like Python
• Applying experience with complex data structures and algorithms
• Staying acquainted with rapidly evolving AI/ML technologies
• Ensuring deep understanding of AI/ML application and impact in military contexts
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Education in quantitative, scientific and technology fields such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science and Analytics
• At least 8 years of relevant working experience
• Deep understanding of AI/ML (supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, deep learning)
• Hands-on experience with current AI tools like TensorFlow and PyTorch
• Strong leadership, planning and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work under stressful environments
