Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of month end journals and reconciliations
  • Manage the accounting and financial operations to ensure timely delivery of monthly financial statements and variance analysis
  • Working with 3 rd party outsourced partners for bookkeeping and reporting
  • Involved in the local statutory audit and reporting
  • Interface with external and internal auditors and prepare/gather materials per auditor’s requirements
  • Ensure compliance with local (GAAP/FRS) and corporate accounting standards (US GAAP)
  • Update and maintain internal control and systems, including Sarbanes Oxley
  • Prepare quarterly GST/VAT returns
  • Involved in AP, AR and PO activities
  • Liaise with Operations, Portfolio /Asset management team and other departments on new agreements or arrangements
  • Liaise with Tax and Treasury regarding tax and funding requirements
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and systems implementations
  • Be a fundamental player in the APAC Accounting organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, ACCA or equivalents, with CA/CPA membership or working towards obtaining the necessary qualifications
  • Strong Accounting knowledge of Accounting standards for APAC
  • 2 to 3 years' experience with combination of audit and regional exposure preferred
  • Good knowledge of accounting software, preferably Yardi & Oracle
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Ability to read, analyse and interpret relevant financial reports, legal documents, accounting pronouncements, regulations and corporate policies
  • Able to prioritise and organise, ensuring all tasks are completed on time
  • Able to work independently with a minimal level of supervision
  • A strong concern for quality - good business judgement and excellent attention to detail
  • Collaborating across teams and offices to achieve successful outcomes with the appropriate levels of support and challenge
  • Ability to evaluate process improvements opportunities and to implement them
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills
  • Strong team player within the team
