Job Summary
- Seeking a System Engineer to support infrastructure operations, system reliability, production deployments, and incident management across Linux and Windows environments.
- The role requires strong networking and troubleshooting skills, with willingness to support after-hours deployments while gaining exposure to automation, cloud technologies, and modern Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
Mandatory Skill-set
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or related field;
- Must have strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server, including CLI, file systems, and user permissions;
- Solid understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, firewalls, subnetting;
- Ability to troubleshoot system, server, network, and connectivity issues;
- Willingness to support after-hours deployments, maintenance windows, and on-call duties;
- Excellent troubleshooting and fault analysis skills for system and network issues;
- Hands-on experience or familiarity with OS configuration, server administration, and automation tools;
- Knowledge of scripting (Bash and/or PowerShell);
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills for production support environments.
Desired Skill-set
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform) and configuration management;
- Basic understanding of Docker and containerization;
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments).
Responsibilities
- Support production deployments, maintenance, and system upgrades during off-peak hours, weekends, and maintenance windows;
- Monitor system health, application performance, and alerts; perform incident triage and escalate when needed;
- Provide production support by troubleshooting system, network, and performance issues;
- Assist in Linux and Windows server administration, configuration, and security hardening;
- Manage user access, system updates, patching, and server configurations;
- Maintain technical documentation, including runbooks, SOPs, and system configurations;
- Monitor and troubleshoot network issues (DNS, firewall, routing, connectivity);
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to resolve performance and system issues;
- Support reliable, secure, and highly available infrastructure operations.
