MongoDB Administrator
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MongoDB Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our MongoDB database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security management, and high-availability configurations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain MongoDB databases in production and non-production environments.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies.
- Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Configure and maintain MongoDB Replica Sets and Sharding environments.
- Ensure database security, user access control, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution.
- Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support application requirements.
- Monitor database health and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience administering MongoDB databases in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of MongoDB architecture, Replica Sets, and Sharding.
- Experience with backup and recovery tools such as MongoDB Ops Manager, Atlas, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of database performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience working with Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or PowerShell.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- MongoDB Certified DBA certification.
- Experience with MongoDB Atlas.
- Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk.
- Experience supporting mission-critical, high-volume applications.
