Company Description

Established in Sep 2022, Castomize is on a mission to make healthcare more accessible, effective, and less invasive with advanced manufacturing and design techniques. Our first product is a series of 4D-printed casts which are more comfortable and convenient for patients, while reducing the amount of resources needed from doctors and nurses.

We are a spinoff from Singapore University of Technology and Design and have been awarded with several design and engineering awards, such as the Singapore Good Design Platinum Award, ASEAN Outstanding Engineering, and the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia in Healthcare and Science.

Role Description

The product design engineer will further the development of Castomize’s portfolio of medical device products, through utilising Castomize’s unique design methodology, materials, and additive manufacturing systems.

He/she will mainly be using 3D modelling design software and 3D printing techniques to conduct iterative prototyping and commercialization of the product, along with other tasks related to product development and commercialization. Day-to-day activities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting design reviews, and optimizing products for performance and manufacturability.

This is a full-time in-person role for a Product Design Engineer based in Singapore, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Design Engineering and Product Design, with a focus on creating innovative and functional solutions
• Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering concepts and problem-solving
• Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for drafting and 3D modeling
• Expertise in all stages of Product Development, from concept to production
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
• Familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field
