Company Description Axon Children’s Centre is a child development centre based in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, providing comprehensive diagnostics, therapeutic interventions, school support, and family-centered care for children with diverse developmental needs. A multidisciplinary team of clinicians and educators, including occupational therapists, speech-language therapists, psychologists, and other specialists, collaborates to deliver integrated, research-driven services that support the whole child. The centre uses a child-led, neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and play-based approach, working closely with families, schools, and communities across home, classroom, and social settings. Axon combines child development, health-tech, and edtech to make high-quality support accessible, inclusive, and sustainable. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Occupational Therapist role based at Axon Children’s Centre in Kajang. The Occupational Therapist will assess children’s functional abilities and sensory, motor, and daily living skills using standardized tools, clinical observation, and caregiver input. They will design and deliver individualized, play-based intervention plans, including one-to-one and small group sessions, to support participation at home, in school, and in the community. Daily responsibilities include documenting progress, preparing reports, and collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team, families, and educators to align goals and strategies. The role also involves providing caregiver training, contributing to case discussions and school visits, and participating in program development, quality improvement, and continuing professional development.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Occupational Therapy, with proven experience working with children and families in developmental or pediatric settings.
  • Understanding of Pediatrics and child development, including neurodevelopmental conditions, sensory processing, and functional skills across ages.
  • Knowledge of Rehabilitation principles, including goal setting, intervention planning, and outcome measurement in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to explain clinical concepts clearly to children, caregivers, educators, and colleagues.
  • Basic awareness of Medicine relevant to pediatric rehabilitation (e.g., common diagnoses, medications, and medical referrals) to support integrated care.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution; registration or eligibility for registration with relevant professional bodies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, with a flexible, child-led, and family-centered mindset.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, including report writing and use of digital systems; proficiency in multiple languages is an advantage.
