ABOUT THE JOB

To support the design, solution development, implementation and commissioning of mechanical infrastructure systems for hyperscale and enterprise data centres, including next-generation AI-ready cooling platforms such as liquid cooling and high-density thermal environments. Includes the adjacent stack of data centre infrastructure and functions to give a wholesome career journey.

The role provides strong exposure to real project site execution, commissioning participation, and hyperscale ecosystem engagement, enabling accelerated professional growth in mission-critical infrastructure engineering

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

(i) Mechanical Design Support (Mission Critical Infrastructure)

Assist in development of:

• Data hall cooling system architectures (CRAH / fanwall / high-density cooling)
• Chilled water and condenser water distribution systems
• Cooling tower and heat rejection strategies
• Secondary loop and CDU-based liquid cooling integration
• Equipment sizing and technical selection
• Mechanical system schematics and layout coordination

Exposure includes AI rack cooling environments and high-density thermal infrastructure.

(ii) Technical Solution Development

Support operations teams in:

• Evaluating air cooling vs liquid cooling strategies
• Supporting hyperscale technical proposal development
• Participating in vendor technical engagement sessions
• Supporting equipment technical evaluation exercises
• Contributing to energy-efficient cooling system optimization initiatives (low-PUE designs)

(iii) Site Implementation & Commissioning Exposure

Participate in:

• Mechanical installation verification on site
• Coordination with contractors during construction
• Mechanical inspection and progress monitoring
• Commissioning readiness verification activities
• Participation in integrated system testing preparation (IST stages)
• Supporting issue resolution during live project execution.

This role provides real hyperscale site exposure, not desk-only consultancy work.

(iv) Cross-Discipline Engineering Coordination

Work closelywith:

• Electrical engineering teams
• CSA engineeringteams
• Commissioningagents
• Hyperscale client technical representatives
• Equipment vendors and OEM specialists
• Project delivery teams

Gain understanding of full data centre lifecycle delivery.

(v) Continuous Learning in Next-Generation Cooling Technologies

Develop competency in:

• AI infrastructure cooling strategies
• Direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems
• CDU architecture and secondary loop piping
• High-density rack deployment environments
• Sustainability-driven infrastructure engineering

CANDIDATE MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (recognized by Board of Engineers Malaysia preferred)
