Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Scopes:

  • Assist in managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly/quarterly variance analysis, cash flow projections, and annual budgets.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information and analysis to support decision – making across the organisation.
  • Must be proficient in preparing consolidated financial statements, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the preparation of financial and management reports for the group in accordance with group accounting policies.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closings, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls.
  • Project Accounting: Monitor and manage financial aspects of construction projects, including job costing, budgeting and forecasting. Track project expenses, revenue recognition, and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.
  • Cost Control & Budgeting: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets, cost control measures, and variance analysis to ensure projects remain on budget and within financial guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including the preparation and submission of GST and other statutory filings.
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, providing training, guidance, and performance support.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency in finance operations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing of accounts, year-end closing, management reporting and financial analysis.
  • Prepare and analyse management reports for the group and its entities.
  • Manage daily banking operations to ensure smooth financial transactions.
  • Liaise with bankers on financing, treasury, and risk management matters.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and perform analyses for management.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to gather and analyse data for project costs, revenue, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices, vendor reconciliations, and vendor payments.
  • Provide financial and operational support to the finance team and subsidiaries.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Handle any other duties assigned, including special projects and management requests.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy or equivalent

• Experience in handling full set of accounts

• Must have at least 3 years’ experience in construction/real estate industry is a plus

• Self motivated, results oriented and multi-task

• Familiar with Accpac Accounting software preferred

• Meticulous with a flair for figures, independent & organized, team player, with initiative & resourceful

• Great working attitude and being able to work well in a team

• Good Communication skill
