Responsibilities
The Category Executive – Fruits supports the management and growth of the fruit category by driving sales, profitability, and product innovation. This role requires strong analytical thinking and commercial awareness to translate data, market trends, and customer insights into actionable decisions.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, comfortable operating in a fast-changing environment, and willing to take calculated risks to test new ideas and opportunities. Fresh produce experience is preferred, but high-potential fresh graduates with strong analytical and commercial aptitude are welcome to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Category Management
- Support the planning and execution of category strategies to achieve sales, margin, and market share targets.
- Monitor category performance through sales, pricing, margin, and inventory analysis.
- Identify opportunities for assortment optimization, product innovation, and promotional activities.
Commercial & Supplier Management
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, product quality, and reliable supply.
- Assist in negotiations, promotional planning, and seasonal sourcing strategies.
- Support supplier performance tracking and identify opportunities for improvement.
Market & Data Analysis
- Analyze sales trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Translate data insights into actionable recommendations for pricing, promotions, and assortment.
- Prepare reports and presentations to support category reviews and management discussions.
Innovation & Growth
- Explore new product opportunities, emerging fruit varieties, and seasonal offerings.
- Test new initiatives and concepts to drive category differentiation and customer excitement.
- Support the execution of category campaigns and new product launches.
Operational Coordination
- Work cross-functionally with merchandising, supply chain, store operations, and quality teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor stock availability, demand fluctuations, and supply risks to maintain optimal inventory levels.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Marketing, or related fields.
- Experience in Fresh Produce, Retail, FMCG, or Trading industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into commercial actions.
- Commercial mindset with a strong interest in retail and consumer behaviour.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
- Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and taking calculated risks.
- Creative thinker who is open to experimentation and new ideas.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools is an advantage.
