Responsibilities
ROLE:
The Operations Manager position is a senior role with responsibility for planning, directing and coordinating the operations of multiple outlets. The person is responsible for improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the restaurants through the implementation of effective methods and strategies. He/she oversees a team of managers and takes part in their development, both as effective leaders and individuals.
The Operations Manager must ensure the outlets are running as well as they possibly can, with a smooth efficient service that exceeds the expectations and needs of guests. They work closely with the Black Sheep Restaurants Founders and other Operations Managers. It is important to have a strong understanding of the Black Sheep Restaurants Core Principles, as well as
supporting long and short term goals set by the company.
Passionate about the restaurant business, the Operations Manager has a genuine knack for hospitality and taking care of people—this includes guests and teammates. They are hungry and tireless in their commitment to creating a better guest experience and working environment for team members of all levels. Additionally, he/she thrives in the trenches and is ready to
lead by example, whether that is running food, seating guests or mopping the floors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all F&B and day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards.
Preserve excellent levels of internal and external guest service.
Maintain menu purchasing and liaise with design.
Drive and build relationships with the Communications Team (restaurant-specific).
Identify guests needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns.
Manage and maintain online scores and ratings of outlets (reviews).
Continually look for ways to improve operations through alternative methods of efficiency.
Lead an F&B team by attracting, recruiting, training and appraising talented personnel.
Develop management teams.
Establish targets, KPI’s, schedules, policies and procedures.
Manage all financials and spendings of the restaurants (petty cash, operating equipment). Provide two-way communication and nurture an ownership environment with emphasis on motivation and teamwork to
your core management teams.
Comply with all health and safety regulations.
Build upon manager-employee relationships (team members).
Build trust by understanding and believing in Black Sheep Restaurants guiding principles.
Control of site cleanliness and maintenance to the highest standards.
F&B management including cost control and inventory.
Report on management regarding sales results and productivity.
Conduct productive weekly management meetings.
Manage payroll and adhere to budgets set out.
Maximise business levels through different channels; Guest Experience, Events and Communications.
Improve/reinforce service standards through daily procedures and practices.
EXPERIENCE:
Strong career progression with previous experience in an Operations Management role.
In-depth knowledge of service, hospitality, food and beverage.
Experience with team training and development and leading large teams.
Excellent business acumen, understanding of cost control, ability to drive sales through service and entrepreneurial mindset.
