Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support the engineering team in improving production processes, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring product quality. This role provides hands-on exposure to manufacturing operations, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives within a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in analyzing and improving manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce waste
  • Support production line troubleshooting and root cause analysis for process issues
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen)
  • Help prepare and update work instructions, SOPs, and technical documentation
  • Collect and analyze production data for reporting and decision-making
  • Support time studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Maintenance)
  • Assist in equipment setup, validation, and process trials
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in:
    • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong interest in manufacturing operations and process improvement
  • Basic knowledge of:
    • Lean Manufacturing principles
    • CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is an advantage
    • Microsoft Excel (data analysis, basic formulas)
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willing to work in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Minimum internship duration: 3–6 months
