DSTA Hiring! Full Time Principal Engineer, IT Systems in - Ricebowl

We are looking for a driven and experienced individual to join the DSTA Chief Information Officer (CIO) office. You will be part of a dynamic team leveraging digital technologies to design, deliver, and sustain IT systems that supports DSTA’s corporate services and operations. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, mission-critical systems, bridging business needs with robust engineering solutions across the full system lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to design and deliver end-to-end IT solutions.
• Translate business requirements into system architecture, technical designs, and test strategies.
• Leads the engineering design and implementation of systems, ensuring robustness, scalability and performance.
• Provide technical leadership and decision-making in the operations and support of enterprise IT systems.
• Oversee system maintenance, lifecycle planning, and obsolescence management.
• Leads fault investigation and root-cause analysis, and drive system improvements and enhancements.
• Ensure seamless system integration and data flows across corporate platforms and related systems.
• Drive continuous improvement by adopting emerging technologies and engineering best practices.
• Degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Strong experience in systems engineering, enterprise IT systems, or infrastructure environments.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement or support complex large-scale enterprise-level systems.
• Broad technical exposure with depth in at least one domain (e.g. systems, infrastructure, integration).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex, open-ended engineering problems.
• Proactive and self -driven, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Effective communicator with strong writing skills, able to engage and align diverse stakeholders.
