Position Summary
The Master Data Manager is responsible for managing and governing enterprise master data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and operational integrity across all business entity, systems and supply chain operations. This role oversees the creation, maintenance, control, and continuous improvement of material, vendor, customer, pricing, and related master data within the organization’s ERP environment. The role works closely with Operations, Procurement, Warehouse, Finance, Customer Service, and IT teams to support business continuity, operational efficiency, and data governance initiatives. The position also provides limited support and coordination for logistics and operational activities where master data accuracy directly impacts supply chain execution.
Responsibilities: -
A. Master Data Governance & Management
- Manage and govern material, vendor, customer, pricing, and related master data across enterprise systems.
- Ensure master data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with established governance standards.
- Establish and maintain master data naming conventions, approval workflows, and data control processes.
- Monitor and improve First-Time-Right (FTR) master data creation performance to reduce operational errors and rework.
- Ensure timely master data setup and maintenance to support operational and business requirements.
- Perform periodic master data audits, validations, and corrective actions to maintain data integrity.
- Develop and maintain master data dashboards, KPI tracking, and management reporting.
- Coordinate closely with business stakeholders to resolve master data issues and process gaps.
- Support system data migration, cleansing, and validation activities during projects and enhancement initiatives.
- Maintain proper documentation, SOPs, and process governance related to master data management.
B. Operational & Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Warehouse, Finance, Customer Service, and IT teams to support smooth operational execution.
- Support Purchase Order (PO) related coordination and operational data accuracy where required.
- Provide support for logistics operational coordination related to shipment documentation and data requirements.
- Assist in resolving operational issues arising from master data discrepancies or transactional inaccuracies.
- Support operational readiness through timely and accurate system updates.
C. Process Improvement & Digitalization
- Identify opportunities to improve master data processes, workflows, and operational efficiency.
- Support automation, digitalization, and continuous improvement initiatives related to master data governance.
- Participate in ERP, SAP, and system enhancement projects related to master data and operational processes.
- Drive standardization and process discipline across master data management activities.
D. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop team members within the master data function.
- Establish clear performance expectations and promote accountability within the team.
- Foster a culture of accuracy, collaboration, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Support succession planning and capability development within the department.
Requirements: -
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Master Data Management, Supply Chain Operations, ERP Governance, or related functions.
- Strong understanding of master data governance principles and operational processes.
- Experience working with SAP ERP / S4HANA environments is preferred.
- Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of cross-functional business operations and supply chain workflows.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, reporting, and data analysis.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in electronics, telco, retail, distribution, or 3PL/4PL industries is an added advantage.
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
