Responsibilities

Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on IT Project Manager to lead the end-to-end implementation of a Payroll HRMS system.
The Project Manager will drive payroll-specific requirement validation, vendor coordination, UAT execution, and cutover planning to ensure zero payroll disruption during transition. The engagement follows a structured Waterfall delivery model and requires strong governance discipline and onsite stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle implementation of a Payroll HRMS system under a Waterfall methodology
  • Drive detailed payroll requirement gathering, including statutory calculations, country-specific rules, and exception scenarios
  • Manage configuration and validation of payroll logic (e.g., MY vs SG calculations where applicable)
  • Coordinate delivery with smaller / niche payroll vendors and ensure adherence to timelines and contractual scope
  • Act as the primary interface between HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors
  • Identify and mitigate payroll-related risks, including compliance gaps and data migration accuracy
  • Manage detailed project plans, milestones, documentation, and sign-off checkpoints
  • Lead UAT focused on payroll scenarios, edge cases, statutory reporting, and reconciliation accuracy
  • Own cutover planning, parallel run validation, and go-live readiness
  • Escalate vendor performance or delivery risks proactively to safeguard payroll continuity
  • Ensure strong onsite stakeholder engagement during requirement workshops, UAT, and go-live phases

Requirements

  • Proven 4-5 years experience managing payroll system implementation projects or similar.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, statutory compliance, and payroll data migration risks
  • Hands-on experience coordinating external vendors and managing delivery challenges
  • Demonstrated application of structured Waterfall methodology
  • Experience managing payroll UAT, parallel runs, and go-live stabilization
  • Comfortable operaating in hybrid environment (minimum 3 days onsite per week)

Must be based in Malaysia

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
