Job Summary
The Radiographer is responsible for performing diagnostic X-ray examinations, ensuring patient safety, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and supporting doctors in the diagnosis and management of patients. The Radiographer will maintain imaging equipment, comply with radiation safety regulations, and provide excellent patient care within a GP clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties
- Perform general diagnostic X-ray examinations as requested by General Practitioners (GPs).
- Position patients correctly to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Assess image quality and repeat examinations when necessary.
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and safety during procedures.
- Verify patient identity and examination requests before imaging.
Radiation Safety
- Adhere to radiation protection and safety standards.
- Apply ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles at all times.
- Ensure proper use of radiation shielding and protective equipment.
- Maintain compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and licensing requirements.
Equipment Management
- Operate and maintain digital X-ray equipment and imaging software.
- Conduct routine quality assurance and quality control checks.
- Report equipment faults and coordinate servicing when required.
- Ensure imaging rooms are clean, organized, and safe.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
- Upload and archive images in PACS or clinic information systems.
- Prepare imaging reports for radiologist review where applicable.
- Assist with appointment scheduling and workflow coordination when required.
Patient Care
- Explain procedures clearly to patients.
- Address patient concerns and answer questions professionally.
- Assist elderly, pediatric, and mobility-impaired patients during examinations.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Requirements Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Radiography or Medical Imaging.
- Registered with the relevant professional regulatory body.
- Valid Annual Practicing Certificate (where applicable).
- Current Radiation Protection certification/licensing as required by local regulations.
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of radiography experience preferred.
- Experience in primary care, outpatient clinics, or GP clinics is an advantage.
- Fresh graduates may be considered.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in Digital Radiography (DR) systems.
- Knowledge of radiation safety regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Working Hours
- Clinic operating hours, including weekends and public holidays as scheduled.
- May be required to work flexible shifts based on clinic needs.

Salary: Based on qualifications, experience, and clinic policy.
Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
