Job Description

Responsibilities

We represent our PLC client - an established Property & Construction industry, in line with their current expansion, they are looking for high calibre & dynamic candidate for this Financial Controller or CFO position.

Job Descriptions

  • Lead and oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions for the Group and its subsidiaries, including group consolidation, financial reporting, taxation, treasury, cash flow management, and internal/external audits.

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including MFRS, Bursa Malaysia, Securities Commission & other relevant authorities.

  • Prepare annual reports, quarterly financial announcements, and periodic submissions to Bursa Malaysia and other regulatory bodies.

  • Review, monitor, analyse, and interpret accounting, taxation, and financial performance matters at both Group and company levels, including presentations to Management, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors.

  • Handle corporate exercises, corporate finance, and investment-related matters.

  • Plan, manage, and monitor the Group’s funding requirements, financing arrangements, placements, drawdowns, repayments, and related risk management activities.

  • Negotiate banking facilities and financing terms with financial institutions, with support from top management to secure competitive rates and suitable financing products.

  • Support investor relations activities by providing accurate financial information and input for corporate presentation information.

  • Collaborate with other departments by providing financial insights, analysis, and advisory support when required.

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, bankers, rating agencies, investors, analysts, tax agents, consultants, Board members, management, and staff at all levels.

  • Undertake additional assignments and ad-hoc duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant working experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial position.

  • Minimum 3 years of audit experience in a Big 4 or reputable medium-sized audit firm.

  • Prior audit and/or commercial experience within the construction industry is required.

  • Professional accounting qualifications are mandatory, such as MIA and/or MICPA, ICAEW, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting requirements, taxation, and group consolidation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • High level of integrity, independence, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight reporting deadlines.
