Our client in the financial services industry is seeking a Senior Python Backend Developer to design, develop and maintain scalable backend systems and services. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of experience in backend development with strong Python expertise
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns and system design principles
• Experience working with microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Helm is an advantage
• Experience building real-time systems or WebSocket-based applications is an advantage
• Proficiency in Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
• Knowledge of web security standards and best practices
• Experience with PHP is an added advantage
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend systems and services using Python
• Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver new features and backend solutions
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and system designs
• Develop and maintain microservices-based architectures
• Design and maintain APIs, integrations and real-time communication services
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to optimize performance and scalability
• Implement messaging solutions using RabbitMQ, Kafka or similar technologies
• Manage and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests
• Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure software meets security, scalability and maintainability standards
• Support CI/CD practices and deployment processes
• Present technical solutions and implementation progress to stakeholders
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and backend development best practices
