Why does this job exist and why is it critical?
Provide legal support to business divisions and stakeholders within the group. Support includes drafting and reviewing documents/contracts, negotiating with counterparties, legal research and advisory.
What are you accountable for?
- Timely legal support to business divisions and stakeholders within the group.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts including with vendors, customers, landlords, dealers and other telecommunications/infrastructure providers.
- Draft, review and negotiate technology reseller, licensing and distributorship contracts with technology principals.
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts for the provision of telecommunications and digital solutions to customers (corporate/Government/SME).
- Conduct legal research and provide sound legal opinions to business divisions and stakeholders.
- Able to balance legal issues against commercial requirements in the performance of assigned duties and tasks. Advice must be practical while ensuring company's interests are protected and compliance with law observed.
What do you need to have for this role?
- Degree in Law (LLB)
- Minimum 2-3 years experience post being called to the Bar in private practice with a leading law firm
- Candidates with background in technology, IT procurement, cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), big data, software licensing and/or telecommunications are strongly encouraged to apply
- Able to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Personal traits: positive, passionate, collaborative, ability to perform in a challenging and dynamic environment
- Excellent writing and analytical skills, attention to detail is essential.
- Excellent organizational and communications skills.
